The Finds Research Group Fund

The Finds Research Group fund has been set up to support research into the finds of early medieval to post medieval Britain.

Applications are open to any members of the Finds Research Group requiring funding to support research into finds of post-Roman date which relate to Britain; Funds may be made to support travel, attend a conference or training, illustration or publication costs, or other research costs as required, at the discretion of the awarding panel.

Fund applications may be submitted on a rolling basis, and will be assessed by the committee throughout the year. Payment will be held until it is required, or made at the end of the project.
  • Requirements:
    • Carry out the research within one calendar year of notification of the fund being awarded;
    • At the end of the year a report of no more than 250 words will be submitted detailing the work undertaken, and the final spend outlined (including invoices/receipts/proofs of purchase). The report will append the finished publication, if that is appropriate, or will outline how the funding was spent eg in the case of attending a conference or funding one part of a larger project;
    • Applications will be in the form of a proposal: research topic, research time frame, costing proposal and time schedule, using the application form which can be found here: Google docs.
